We are going to demystify CCK. For the entire length of the session we will do nothing but CCK. We will take our time, stop for questions, and insure that every one leaves with a firm grasp on this most essential of modules.
Covered:
- Define a node type and a content-type? [hint: same things!]
- Show how Drupal core can create new content types without CCK.
- Show how the CCK module alone can add many fields to any node-type.
- Spotlight some of the add-on CCK modules that add more fields
- Plenty of Q-n-A [No attendee left behind!]
If you come with a laptop with either net access to a Drupal site OR a locally hosted Drupal site, you can follow along as we use various CCK modules to add fields to a node-type.
Some of the basic, easy CCK add-ons are link, zipcode, imagefield, emailfield, etc. We will use some of these. Please have them installed and ready to configure.
If everyone progresses along nicely, we'll get jiggy with it and do some crazier CCK add-ons like Node-Reference, or Date!
