Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL) has 47 departments, centers and programs. Having adopted Drupal 5 for their college level sites, the Communications team turned their attention next to the department level. Like most universities, the departments were left up to their own devices to build and maintain Web sites. Arts & Sciences (A&S) decided to explore offering a centralized Drupal 6-based infrastructure, complete with four skinnable theme options.

Palantir has completed the infrastructure construction and is currently helping A&S roll out the solution to willing departments. This talk will explore what how it was built initially, how it's been tweaked since entering production and the lessons you can apply to your own project.
