Drupal Web Services for Remote Portlets

My name is Tom Scott. I'm wearing my name tag. Look for me at the conference and let's talk about web services, WSRP and drupalwsrp. I'm here to learn.

I'd like to discuss Drupal WSRP: web services for remote portlets. Anyone who's attracted to the capability of remote procedure call, where a human or computer causes a remote computer to perform an action, will like this session.

For your browsing pleasure I put some links, diagrams and basic definitions on the following webpage:

I hope someone with expertise in web services will join the session. I'd very much like to learn from them how WSRP can be used by beginners and experts to develop high-quality Drupal websites that take advantage of the growing number of web services available to us all.

Mashups and Web Services with QueryPath

Twitter, Amazon, Flickr, Amplify, Technorati, DBPedia... it seems like everyone has a web service API, now. But how can you take advantage of these resources? In this section, targeted to PHP programmers, we will look at how the QueryPath Drupal module can be used to build mashups by pulling data from various web services.

Want a taste of what you will see in this session? Check out this screencast, which shows a mash-up of five different web services inside of Drupal, turning one simple page node into a portal of information.
