We want your feedback on the camp. Please fill out this uber-short survey to help us plan for next year. Thanks!
Views is an incredibly powerful module if you know how to use it. If you know how to extend it, well, you're golden. But how do all of Views' moving parts fit together?
This session will attempt to explain the over-arching design of the Views 2 module, and how one goes about writing plugins, handlers, and supporting new tables. The goal will be to give attendees a sense of how Views is put together, and therefore how to extend it gracefully. There will be much reading of code.
There are presenter notes on the slides on Google Docs.
Create a panel of users with varing backgrouds to talk about their lessons learned with Drupal development. Open Q&A with group participation with best practices and tips.
Panels, Context and Display Suite have a fair amount of use case overlap. This will be an open discussion on what people are succeeding with. I don't plan to present anything, but wanted to frame a discussion. I use context but not panels or display suite. I can demo context some if appropriate to the discussion.
A recent article by Lullabot frames this discussion well:
